2004 Hockey OutingThe GLBT Alumni Society joined with the 1809 Lambda Alumni Society from Miami University to cheer on our teams at a hockey game in early January.
Chicago TripThe Society took its first "On the Road with the Buckeyes" trip in early January 2004. Members from throughout the Midwest gathered in Chicago to cheer on the Men's gymnastics team in the Windy City Invitational and the Women's basketball team as they took on Northwestern.
Exclusive member eventOne of the events that was open only to paid members during the 2003-2004 tear was a private reception with Wilson Cruz. Cruz portrayed the first out gay teenager on television in the series "My So Called Life." Cruz visited the university as part of the President and Provost's Diversity Lecture Series.
2003 Annual MeetingThe society held the official kick off event for Columbus Pride Weekend and our annual meeting. The cocktail reception at the Crowne Plaza has become one of the premier events of Pride.
Bowling Outing with StudentsThe society and members of Fusion and other campus GLBT student groups socializes at Mr. Bill's Bowling. This is one of the many events that are sponsored each year by the society to benefit students.
Network ColumbusNetwork Columbus is the GLBT CHamber of Commerce for Central Ohio. Network meets monthly for drinks and appetizers. Normally sponsored by a business, the GLBT Alumni Society joined with the OSU Alumni Association in sponsoring the event. Outstanding Alumni Society PresentationIn October 2003, the University and the OSU Alumni Association named the GLBT Alumni Society the "Outstanding Alumni Society" at a ceremonyy attended by representatives of the other 280 societies and clubs from across the country. Part of the picnic includes the annual "Rainbow Graduation" ceremony where graduating seniors and graduate students from the GLBT community are recognized and presented with an Alumni Society membership and a rainbow colored tassel that can be worn at graduation. ![]() ![]() ![]() 2003 Pep RallyThe society gathered at Union Station for its annual pep rally. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 2003 Tailgate PartyOver 150 members and friends joined the society for its annual tailgate party.
