GLBT Alumni Society Awards

In the Winter of 2004, the GLBT Alumni Society launched a new initiative to recognize distinguished alumni from our community.

Community members may nominate someone in any of the following categories.

Young Alumni Achievement

Presented to alumni who have demonstrated distinctive achievement in a career, civic involvement or both. Nominees must not reach their 36th birthday during the year in which the award is to be given.
Consider the following areas when submitting your application:
  • Career achievements
  • Civic involvement
  • Age 35 or younger

Service to the Community

Presented to alumni who have distinguished themselves in service to humanity and who have best exemplified the University's motto, "Education for Citizenship," by having performed significant voluntary services to their community beyond the call of nusiness or professional duty.
Consider the following areas when submitting your application:
  • Service to humanity
  • Service to community

Service to the GLBT Community

Presented to alumni who have distinguished themselves in service to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community and who have exemplified the University's motto, "Education for Citizenship," by having performed significant voluntary service to the community beyond the call of business or professional duty.
Consider the following areas when submitting your application:
  • Service to the GLBT community

Service to the OSU Community

Presented to alumni who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and service to the University and/or whose personal involvement has enhanced the quality of student life.
Consider the following areas when submitting your application:
  • Service to students
  • Service to Ohio State
  • Membership in the Alumni Association
  • Service to the Alumni Association
  • If nominees are current University employees, you must demonstrate that they have gone above and beyond their assigned job duties.

Personal Achievement

Presented to alumni who have superb records of distinguished career accomplishments and who have made outstanding contributions to their profession.
Consider the following areas when submitting your application:
  • Career accomplishments
  • Professional impact
  • Significant publications/research
  • Community service
